Day 2 of fish camp began with a lazy breakfast for most of the house. Pam awoke with a migraine so Dave, Jeff, & John headed out to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription as well as to the marina to retrieve the fishing boat which is just across the lake but about a 40 minute drive.
They left the truck at the marina and brought the boat back across the lake to the house. In a turn of misfortune, Dave's phone managed to find its way to the bottom of the lake during that trip. So, if you try to call him and hear a bit of gurgling or fish speak, you'll know why. Medicine received, Pam headed back up to bed until dinner time.
We had sandwiches for lunch and the fishing gang comprised of John, Jeff, Carol, Dave, Kaabe, Emily, Killian, Colin, and Jaime headed out on the boat for a few hours.
The trip proved minimally successful with tales of 3 ("almost 4") catches were reported though nothing deemed large enough to keep. I believe the the successful parties were Colin, Jaime and Carol.
Following a day of fishing, it was burgers and dogs on the grill a la Jaime for dinner along with sides of macaroni salad and potato salad. After dinner there was a brief stint of fishing from the doc followed by music and company for part of the crew by the fire pit precariously atop a cliff of jagged rocks next to the lake. There was some minor contention over the music choices but a great social experience for all. "Salon Dion" was requested by Carol leading to a journey through CeeLo Green and Lizzo before eventually landing on a heartfelt performance art piece by Jaime to Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On". Taking part in the fire pit activities for at least portions were Paul, Emily, Jaime, Dave, Kaabe, Jeff, Colin, Carol, and Killian. I'm not sure what was going on at the cabin during the fire pit time but I can only imagine it was scheming and gossip. :D I'll leave it for someone from the cabin group to fill in that blank.
Jeff managed to catch 2 fish, threatening the boating group haul, while sitting 30 yards away from his pole and watching the bobber move while enjoying the fire pit company.
Fire pit activities wrapped up around 2am and everyone had bunked down for the night.
